Garlic  

We are a small farm in North Central WV located in Pentress.   We are in transition from growing with traditional farm methods to natural, organic methods. 

Our main crop is GARLIC growing over 18 varieties that we sell as loose bulbs, braids, wands and garlic powder. 

The Hard Neck varieties we grow are Organic Japanese, Russian Giant, Organic Keeper, Chesnock Red, Music Pink, Red Janice, Organic Purple Glazer and German White.  

Our Soft Neck varieties are Kettle River Giant, Polish Soft Neck, California Soft Neck, Early Italian Red, Red Toch, Siskiyou Purple, Chilean Silver, Applegate Giant, Transylvanian, New York White plus Elephant Garlic. 

We truly enjoy growing garlic and we also offer fresh herbs, cut flowers, ornamental garden plants such as Caladiums and great fresh veggies.   In 2012 we will be attending two local markets, Saturday at the Morgantown Farmers' Mkt. Assn and Tuesday at the new Greene Growers Farmers Market in Waynesburg, PA.  Thanks for visiting our website and we hope to see you at the next farmers' market.

Morgantown Farmers' Market Growers Assn.

Market at Spruce & Fayette Streets in Morgantown.   The 2012 Summer Market begins Saturday, May 5th, 8:30am to noon at the City Parking lot on Spruce & Fayette Streets normally BUT since the Pavilion Construction is in progress we will move to the parking lot behind DANIELS, same time/day. This will be our site until July when construction is scheduled to be completed.

The Greene Growers Farmers Market will begin on Tuesday, May 15th from 3 to 6PM and will be located at Waynesburg Yamaha dealership at the corner of Route 21 and  Elm Drive.

Garlic Scapes for this week's Market!

Here's that great Pesto recipe again!

Take advantage of the few weeks the scapes are available !!

Rudy's Garlic Scape Pesto

 Ingredients

• 6 garlic scapes, chopped        
• 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
• 1/2 cup freshly grated Asiago cheese         
• 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
• 1/4 cup pine nuts                 
• 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
• salt and pepper to taste

Directions

 Place the garlic scapes, Parmesan cheese, Asiago cheese, lemon juice, and pine nuts in the bowl of a food processor. Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture. Blend until the pesto is a brilliant green color and smooth in texture. Season with salt and pepper.
